Let's talk about Bloppers

Bloppers, I never liked that name… I have been making “Bloppers” for 10 years and initially referred to them as urchins or coral. But my favorite ceramics professor would call them “Bloppers”. He used this word because of the sound i make when I roll a small ball of clay in my hands then flop it down on the canvas, letting gravity and luck shape the body of the piece….. Blop.

I can call them a hundred different names but it’s no use. It will always be about the “Blop”.
